Towards a new year

First of all thank you to everyone involved with our company during last year – our application users, customer companies and other friends. It has been a ride to say the least with a lot of development happening. Sunduka took its first steps in big industry events and launched major new partnerships with big Finnish brands and household names such as Ivana Helsinki and Suomen Messut. We believe that this year will be even more eventful.

We think that our apps truly are great pieces of software that can benefit both companies and users. Now that Sunduka’s great team is running full speed, the applications are being tested and our users are giving us valuable feedback, we are aiming to take the next step and make our services available to everyone, worldwide. We strive to achieve great things, so watch out for exciting news on FacebookTwitter and here in this blog and we will keep you posted.
Thank you for all your user feedback and if there is anything that you would like to tell us, just drop us a line at feedback@cardu.com orfeedback@ringi.com.

Sunduka Team

On our way to China

Few weeks ago we had Chinese journalists visiting Sunduka in Helsinki and after the visit we have got some nice publicity in China. Some of the media, we have to say are the most important and influential media in China such as China Daily and People’s Daily.

If you are fluent in Mandarin or in good terms with Google translator, have a look at the China Mobile article about Sunduka and Ringi. In short, the article describes the huge opportunity that billions of calls made every day offer and highlights the great possibility Ringi offers for consumers to have fun with calls and the benefits that businesses can utilize with Ringi.

We are also happy to announce that Ringi is now live in already five Chinese app stores. You can find Ringi on:

And there are still more stores to come..soon!

We have also made Ringi video in Chinese, you can check out the video from Youko. Enjoy!

Sunduka at Slush!

Slush is the largest tech, design & startup conference covering Northern Europe and Russia. It was founded in 2008 by a small group of Finnish entrepreneurs, who wanted to bring the local startup scene together at least once every year. Now, five years later, Slush brings more international investors and media to the region than any other event out there. Slush is organized by Startup Sauna, the Helsinki-based seed accelerator for early-stage startup companies from Northern Europe and Russia. www.slush.fi

Sunduka took part in Slush last week 21-22.11.2012. The event gathered over 500 startups and 200 investors under one roof. Days consisted of pitches, demos, speakers and interesting people. Sunduka had a demo booth that was surrounded by interested people as we demoed our treasures Cardu and Ringi and both got some positive feedback!

Thank you Slush for this amazing event!

Mobile is not just the hot topic of the moment – It is the future

We are currently facing a change in media consumption comparable in size and scope to the outbreak of the Internet. Mobile device numbers are projected to exceed the number of humans on earth by the year 2016.

This means explosive growth in mobile markets. Expected mobile marketing expenditures are 40 billion for 2015. This growth is based on four main factors:

1) Enormous growth in smartphone owners (for example in Finland 90 percent of new phones sold, are smartphones.
2) The smartphones are equipped with an inexpensive or fixed price data subscription.
3) Appstores enable easy adoption and use of applications.
4) Use of internet is transitioning from PC’s to mobile devices.

How to choose between the two strategies: native apps or mobile-optimized webpages?

So called native applications (such as Sunduka’s Ringi and Mobiilikortti) optimize usability in each environment and they enable deeper usability and user experience.  An app can target the specific limitations and abilities of each individual device much better than a website can while running inside a browser. Therefore all sources are unanimous in telling you that apps are the best bet at the moment. Support for this opinion was voiced by for instance Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg who openly admitted concentrating too much on HTML5 was a mistake for the company. (techcrunch article)

Creating a native app is costly and time consuming especially if developed for all platforms. This is where Sunduka’s Mobiilikortti offering kicks in. We offer you a mobile channel without any initial investment in app development and you gain access for your company to all mobile platforms and our in-house product development makes sure you are always ahead of the competition.

Your customers are already in mobile and therefore it is essential for companies to develop a mobile strategy. So move fast and get a competitive edge against competition!

Timo represents Sunduka at FINNVASION USA

Sunduka took part in the Finnvasion delegation, a group of rising Finnish start-ups, that visited USA on 11-16 March to meet the who’s who of the tech world. The trip led by Alexander Stubb, Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade, aimed to raise awareness of Finland as a European hub of start-up companies.

We pitched a lot and got incredibly good feedback which we have now funneled back into our development team. In other words there are great new features coming up soon!
